Different Leagues and Competitions
have different pay scales. In Youth leagues this often
depends on the age group and game length. The Referee and
Assistant Referees are typically paid different amounts. In a two
man system (High School and Calvin JV) both officials are
considered referees and paid the same amount. Note that
for College and High School Games you will have to pay $2.50 per
assignment to the WMSOA assignor, if he assigns you the game.
Back-to-back games (High School JV And Varsity) count as one
assignment. In the event of cancellation you will
typically not be paid if you are notified before leaving for the
field. In USSF if
one of your crew does not show up you may appoint an unpaid club
linesman (your crew does not get the missing person's
pay!). In High School only certified officials may
be used (so you may be on our own if your partner does not
arrive, but you do get both paychecks).
Procedures for cancelled games
vary, but for most USSF play if you are notified of a
cancellation by the day before a game you will not be paid.
